Gilded figurines – the speciality of gilders and sculpture painters

Figurines of sacred or profane origin are the classic speciality of gilders and sculpture painters. Using expertise from two areas, a figurine can be transformed into a gilded figurine. Actually two separate professions, today this work is generally carried out by trained gilders and sculpture painters. The gilder deals with gilding and jewellery techniques. The sculpture painter takes care of the painting, the so-called setting of carvings, sculptures, art objects and various other items.
